Kasargod, Jan 9: Police investigation in the shocking murder-suicide revealed that the mother was killed in front of the couple’s five-year-old son Abhilash who has become an orphan for no fault of his. Soon after mother was shot, Abhilash ran out of his home and explained the incident in the neighbourhood. The brutal murder came to light when the neighbours arrived.

It is suspected that Vijayan killed his wife Baby on suspicion of infidelity. There was dispute between the two for some time. Vijayan had suspected that Baby had developed an immoral relationship with an excavator driver. He used to fight with his wife every day over the issue.

Vijayan used to assault his wife in drunken stupor. Therefore, Baby had lodged a complaint at Adoor police station on Friday. Police personnel had called both the husband and wife and requested to sort out the differences between them. The police had said that they would summon the excavator driver to the police station and speak to him.

DSP D Shilpa and senior police officials visited the spot and conducted spot inspection. Vijayan who had gone out at 12 pm in the afternoon had come back with a country gun and shot his wife on the head in front of his son. Police are investigating about the country gun.

Kasargod: Man shoots wife to death, commits suicide by hanging

Kasargod, Jan 9: In a tragic incident, a person shot his wife dead and committed suicide by hanging.

The deceased have been identified as Vijayan (38) and Baby (32). The incident took place at Vadakkakare, near Muliar in the afternoon on Saturday January 9.

Vijayan, the husband, appears to have opened fire using a country gun killing his wife Baby. The lifeless body of Vijayan was found hanging in the nearby forest.

The lifeless body of Vijayan was found hanging in rubber plantations about 200 meters away from the residence. Preliminary investigations revealed that family dispute is the reason for the extreme step. Baby was shot on her head inside the house.

The locals who came rushing hearing the gunshots found Baby lying in a pool of blood. Vijayan was missing. His body was found after a thorough search. It is said that there was a dispute between the two.

Adoor station police visited the spot, conducted inquest and taken the body to Kasargod general hospital. Investigations are in progress.
