Kundapur, Jan 9: “The special achievements between the birth and death of a person are permanent. The simplicity, sincerity and dedication towards society of late Dinakar Shetty, have made him immortal. He had the dream to revive Brahmavar sugar factory and concern towards sugarcane growers that earned him immense popularity,” said former minister Vinaykumar Sorake.
He was speaking in a meeting to pay homage to veteran Congress leader and former Kundapur taluk panchayat president late S Dinakar Shetty held by Kundapur block Congress committee at Kundapur R N Shetty hall.
Former Lions governor, entrepreneur Jayakar Shetty said that the dedication to work of Dinakar Shetty is an example to people. “He had conducted several experiments through farmers and become successful.”
PLD bank president Malyadi Shivarama Shetty said that Dinakar Shetty will always remain in the minds of people in the cooperative sector. “He had served for 30 years as PLD bank director and 25 years as the president. His service in the Congress party was valuable,” he said.
Kundapur block Congress president Hariprasad Shetty who presided over the programme said that Dinakar Shetty had several opportunities in front of him but he remained as he was due to his hesitation. “He has earned immense appreciation due to his compassionate nature. Those in the cooperative sector will be thinking to prepare a scheme to immortalize his service,” he said.
Congress party’s B Herianna, Manigopala, Bantara Yane Nadavara Sangha Kundapur committee convener Avarse Sudhaker Shetty, district Congress chief secretary Kolkebail Kishan Hegde and Mahila Congress’s Shamala Bhandary paid homage. Kenchanoor Somashekar Shetty, Mahila Congress president Jyothi V Putran and others were present.
