Udupi: Minister Kota Poojary requests CM Yediyurappa to extend financial help to Billava women

Udupi, Jan 18: Chief minister B S Yediyurappa is on a two-day visit to Udupi. On this occasion, Karnataka fisheries minister Kota Srinivas Poojary requested the chief minister to provide loans over Rs 50 crore on zero per cent interest to women belonging to Billava community and other subgroups in the state.

Responding to the request, the chief minister stated that he would consider including the said amount in the upcoming budget.

Community leader B N Shankar Poojary, Achyuth Kalmady and Navin were present.

    This is a bad and mad request. Is he only minister for his community ? Last time in elections he played this dirty self community card. He should exhibit a comprehensive stand and not a narrow one.

    His plan of mass marriage is WRONG. If he really want to show that it is not a publicity stint, let govt help financially for the cause and let their relatives get a chance to get the programme conducted. If not, cooperate with the noble men like Veerendra Heggade who are already conducting that mass marriage since many years. Let him not re-invent the wheel.

    Does he belongs to a community. For vote they say we for all and bowdown when caste comes. All parties practicing caste, religion based politics which is a bad trend.
