Bengaluru, Jan 19: In a B report filed in the special court for the people's representatives here, the Lokayukta police denied the role of the chief minister, B S Yediyurappa, in Bellandur land de-notification scandal. With this, Yediyurappa has got temporary reprieve.

The report containing 10,000 pages in 27 volumes has been filed in the court by the Lokayukta. The court, which allowed petitioner, Vasudeva Reddy, to file objections, posted the matter to February 2.

It is said that the advocates for the petitioner may request the court to accord permission to summon the accused to the court. It may be recalled that recently, Yediyurappa had approached the high court seeking to quash the first information report and hearing by Lokayukta court but the high court had refused to entertain his request. A bench led by Justice John Michael Cunha has already rejected an application submitted by chief minister Yediyurappa to quash the first information report relating to de-notification in Bellandur and Devarabeesanahalli. The court has criticized the police for not holding satisfactory investigation about allegations against Yediyurappa till 2019 even though the court had directed the police to hold an inquiry under the supervision of the Lokayukta court.
