Bengaluru, Jan 21: In an effort to give representation to more castes and to fortify the party's position to face Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike election, the Congress high command appointed two more working presidents to Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee. They are Ramalinga Reddy and Dhruvanarayana.
The order was issued by All India Congress Committee general secretary, K C Venugopal. KPCC already has three working presidents, Satish Jarkiholi, Ishwar Khandre, and Saleem Ahmed.
Both Shivakumar and Siddarmaiaah had recommended Dhruvanarayana's name for the post of working president. It is said that Ramalinga Reddy got the post due to the push he received from senior leaders who have formed a third front within the party. It is said that this group has the backing of senior leaders like K H Muniyappa, Hariprasad and others, who want to challenge the meteoric rise of Krishna ByreGowda, Zameer Ahmed Khan and others who are deemed to be close to Siddaramaiah and who are growing in stature in Bengaluru city,
