Mangaluru: Two separate cases registered - Five arrested for attempting to sell cannabis

Mangaluru, Jan 21: City Crime Branch officials on Thursday, January 21 arrested five people accused of selling several kilos of cannabis.

The arrested accused are Abdul Aziz (40) alias Pookar Aziz of Thoudugoli cross, Naringana, Hafeez alias Appi alias Moideen (34). The accused were trying to sell 23.980 kg of ganja at Dekkadu in Kuthar.

Acting on a tip-off, CCB arrested the accused and handed them over to Ullal police.

In another incident, police arrested three accused for smuggling ganja from Deralakatte to Mudipu in a car bearing the Maharashtra registration. The arrested accused are Vittal Chauhan of Telangana and Sanjeev Kumar and Kallappa of Bidar. Police have seized 15 kg cannabis and the car which was used to smuggle ganja. Two separate cases were registered in Ullal and Konaje police station limits connected to drugs.
