Mangaluru: Vir Chakra awardee Dinesh Chandra Bhandary no more

Mangaluru, Jan 22: 'Vir Chakra' award winner, Dinesh Chandra Bhandary (88) died on Wednesday in Mumbai.

Bhandary, who served as a group captain in the Indian Air Force hailed from Kolnadu Pademane, Mulky.

He was awarded 'Vir Chakra' for his service during the Indo-Pakistan War in 1971.

He is survived by his wife Chitra Bhandary, son Shrinick Bhandary, his brother Subash Bhandary, brothers, sisters and relatives.

Dinesh Chandra Bhandary who was in Bengaluru and Pune after his retirement had been to Mumbai for treatment. The final rites were held in Mumbai with military state honours.
