Udupi, Jan 22: Kodethoor Udupa Foundation Trust bestowed Dr H S Ballal, pro chancellor and Dr H Vinod Bhat, executive vice president of Manipal Academy of Higher Education with the lifetime achievement in recognition of their enormous and exemplary contributions in the fields of education and healthcare. Dr N Udupa welcomed the gathering, and Dr A R Raghu introduced Dr H S Ballal and Dr Vinod Bhat to the audience. MAHE vice chancellor Lt Gen (Dr) M D Venkatesh, and pro vice chancellor Dr PLNG Rao delivered felicitation addresses as well.
Kodethoor Udupa Foundation t was founded by the well-wishers, relatives, students and friends of Kodethoor UDUPA brothers. Dr K Bhaskar Udupa (USA) is the chairman of the Trust whereas K Bhuvanabhirama Udupa is the secretary, and Dr N Udupa is the convener. The Trust has been involved with various activities like sponsoring endowment lectures, scholarships, fellowships, travel grants, relief funds for needy patients etc and importantly, felicitate people who have made noteworthy contributions to the society. The Trust has felicitated many people including Dr Ramdas M Pai, chancellor of MAHE, Manipal for his outstanding services in the field of education and healthcare.
Sharing his thoughts on this citation Dr Dr H S Ballal, Pro Chancellor said, “I am honoured to receive this felicitation and the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ given by Kodethoor Udupa Family Foundation Trust.
Expressing his gratitude on receiving the prestigious award, Dr H Vinod Bhat, executive vice president of Manipal Academy of Higher Education said “I am humbled by this recognition. The Trust has been doing yeoman service to the community by supporting education and healthcare. I applaud the work done so far and urge the Kodethoor Udupa Foundation Trust to multiply their efforts and benefit a lot more needy and deserving people”
