Udupi, Jan 26: Parkala Congress and Congress Kisan unit on Tuesday staged protests against farm Acts near Babu Raya circle, Parkala using a farming tractor as part of the 71st Republic day.

Local farmer and senior Congress leader Shambhu Shetty Bettu lit the lamp and set the protest programme in motion.

Congress Kisan unit district president, Elloor Shashidhar Shetty urging for abolition of farm acts explained the pros and cons in detail.

Brahmavar Congress party Kisan unit president, Harish Shetty Kilinje, Jaya Shetty Bannanje, Mohandas Nayak Parkala, Upendra Naik Tulaja Parkala, Manjappa Sanil Kilinje, Ashok Poojary Kilinje, Walter D’Souza Kolalgiri, A P Rao, Achyuta Nagar Parkala, H Raju Poojary, Prakash B Naik, Abdul Rahim, Rajesh Shetty, Sudhir Shetty Hiriadka and Deviprasad Acharya were present.
