Kundapur, Jan 27: Annappa and Saraswathi couple living in Janatha Colony in Siddapur village had surprise guests on Tuesday January 26. They were visited by MLA B M Sukumar Shetty, Kundapur sub divisional officer K Raju, and officials of the revenue department. They obtained pension application from the old couple and sanctioned pension on the spot,
Siddapur gram panchayat members and others also visited the couple and gave them the assurance that they will be provided with financial support and help to build their own house. Taluk health officer Dr Nagabhushan Udupa, visited them and assured to extend help through Rotary or other organizations.
Kundapur assistant commissioner Raju, after hoisting the flag, went to the house of the couple and instilled confidence in them. MLA and AC held mutual discussions and decided to provide house to the old couple. Sukumar Shetty said that a house would be built with the support of donors to the couple as takes time to provide a house under government scheme. He said that the house will have toilet, power supply, drinking water etc.
Assistant commissioner Raju, said that after personally verifying their problems, the couple was sanctioned an old age pension of Rs 600 per month.
