Mangaluru: DKWJU to hold village stay, awareness programme on Jan 31

Mangaluru Jan 28: Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists’ Union (DKWJU) will conduct a village stay and awareness programme on January 31 at Kombaru DKZP higher primary school in Kadaba taluk in association with Kadaba Journalists’ Association, District administration, zilla panchayat, Kadaba taluk panchayat and Kombaru gram panchayat, informed DKWJU president Srinivas Nayak Indaje.

Addressing media here on Thursday January 28, he said, “The village stay and awareness programme will be inaugurated by Rural Development and Panchayat raj minister K S Eshwarappa, the health camp will be inaugurated by Fisheries Minister S Angara, the booklet regard village stay at Kuthloor and Maddapady will be unveiled by MLA U T Khader, and plastic-free village campaign will be inaugurated by deputy commissioner (DC) Dr K V Rajendra.

“MLAs Harish Poonja, Sanjeev Matandoor, MLC Prathap Simha Nayak, zilla panchayat president Meenakshi Shanthigodu, zilla panchayat CEO Dr Selvamani, superintendent of police B M Laxmi Prasad and others will be present.

“At 11 am, discussion will be held with the officials under the chairmanship of DC Dr K V Rajendra and with the people. The programme will be presided over by minister S Angara where problems faced in the village will be discussed.

“During the awareness camp, there will be Yoga demonstration, Aadhar registration and correction facility of Aadhar card. Villagers can submit applications for Ayushman Bharat and Arogya Karnataka Card. There will be a free health check-up, blood donation camp and much more,” he said.

DKWJU general secretary Ibrahim Adkastala, treasurer Pushparaj B N, state working committee member Jagannath Shetty Bala and Bhaskar Rai Katta were present.
