Udupi, Jan 28: “Most of the employees in national banks are hailing from outside the state. Therefore, local people are facing difficulties to communicate with them, hindering bank dealings. At least a minimum number of staff from Karnataka should be appointed in the bank for the convenience of local people,” urged district panchayat members in the general meeting held in the leadership of district panchayat president Dinakar Babu.
“It will be convenient for local customers when there are at least two staff members who can speak in Kannada. Locals are unable to receive details of various bank schemes otherwise,” said member Babu Shetty.
“Kannadigas are not showing sufficient interest in bank recruitments. Therefore, staff from Andhra Pradesh, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh get appointed,” said bank manager Rudresh.
