Mangaluru: 40 students test corona-positive, college sealed

Mangaluru, Feb 3: Authorities issued an order to seal down a nursing college near Rani Abbakka circle here at Ullal on Wednesday January 3.

The step was taken after 40 students of Aaliyah Institute of Nursing College who arrived from Kerala to take examination tested positive for Covid-19.

Ullal city municipality officials initiated orders to seal the hospital and college.

"As many as 40 students have tested positive for Covid-19. Students are from Kerala. District health officer, nodal officer and I have visited the spot. After declaring the spot as a containment zone, the area have been sealed now. Till February 19, no one is allowed to enter nor leave the college premises. Other students are isolated from the infected students. The students who come from Kerala taking precautionary measures should undergo Covid-19 test. The students and the people should strictly adhere to the guidelines. People need not fear, but take precautionary measures," said city municipality commissioner Rayappa.
