Bahrain : Sandalwood Stars Add Glamour to Bunts' Anniversary Celebrations

Bahrain, Jun 28: Bunts Bahrain celebrated their 12th anniversary with the annual food festival and a cookery competition on Friday June 25 at the Indian Club.
The programme began with a Shree Ganesha prayer song and ‘Shiva Shruthi’ invocation dance. This was followed by comedy song ‘Meenakshi Ninna Kanna Mundey’, Hindi fusion song ‘Awoo Awoo’, Tulu folk dance ‘Mayada Bootha’ and Hindi Movie dance ‘Jiya Jale Jan Jale’.
Amaranath Rai, president, Bunts Bahrain, welcomed the members and guests.
Shivadwaj, Kannada and Tulu actor, who is also the producer of Tulu documentary film ‘Gaggara’, Guru Kiran, state award winning Kannada music director, Bhaskar Shetty, president, Thane Bunts’ Association, and Vivekanada Shetty, president, Mulund Bunts Sangha, were honoured with flower bouquets and mementos.
Shivadwaj, guest of honour, praised Bunts Bahrain for their unity. He said that though he has been in the film industry for the past 12 years in Bangalore, his love and affection are to his mother tongue Tulu and his documentary film ‘Gaggara’ was selected for ‘Panorama’ held recently in Goa, which was appreciated by foreign viewers.
Guru Kiran praised the Bunts Bahrain community for keeping up the tradition and value of Tulunadu.
Vivekananada Shetty reiterated these views and said that all community members must value their family, home, and culture and provide moral education to their children.
Bhaskar Shetty, president, Thane Bunts Association, spoke a few words about the ancestors of the Bunts community, their struggle for their families, and requested Bunts to help poor families in the community.
During the function, Amaranatha Rai felicitated Jayaram Shetty, senior member of the Bunts community, on his retirement from 28 years of service in Bahrain.
After the stage function, there were Tulu, Hindi, and Kannada film dances. Guru Kiran also entertained with lovely Tulu-Kannada songs including ‘Mokeda Singari’.
Guru Kiran and Shivadwaj distributed prizes to the cooking contest winners. A fashion show was also organized by Archana and Sushmitha. Ramanna Rai gave the vote of thanks.
