Mangalore: City Gets a New Commercial Establishment in Pio Mall

Mangalore, Jun 4: The city will be gifted with yet another shopping centre in Pio Mall, promoted by Lancy Builders and Promoters and co-promoted by Capuchin Fraternity.
Pio mall is a commercial establishment comprising space for 82 shops. St Joseph Art Printers, a shop for the wedding gowns and accessories will be the first shop to function. The mall will have a modular kitchen showroom, a restaurant from Shetty Groups, and three offices of Lancy group among other shops.
The inauguration of the Mall and new office premises of Lancy Constructions, the parent company was held at Bejai Church Road, near Capuchin Friary here on Sunday July 4.
Ivan D’Souza, vice- president, District Congress Committee, inaugurated the Pio Mall. Speaking on the occasion he said that Lancy Mascarenhas, the promoter and builder of the mall and owner of Lancy Constructions is a very honest and dedicated man. Though he has won many awards for his achievements he is people’s man. He has great love towards people and it is reflected in his service to the needy, he added.
Fr Vincent Furtado, OFM cap, provincial- Karnataka Capuchin Province blessed the newly inaugurated mall. He said that the mall was named after an Italian Father – Padre Pio who was born in 20th century.
The new office premises was inaugurated by Rajani Dugganna, mayor, Mangalore City Corporation and blessed by Fr Peter Cyprian D’Souza, superior, St Anne’s Friary. Rajani wished all the success to the Lancy Group and said that they have given a great gift to city. She said that Lancy has won the hearts of many with his hard work and service.
Fr Victor Machado, parish priest, Bejai Church was the guest of honour. He said that Lancy usually speaks less and works more. His dedication shows in his work and he is a very devoted man. He lauded the people of Mangalore along with its infrastructure, educational institutions and health-care units.
Maxim Rodrigues compered the programme, Titus Noronha welcomed and Niola Mascarenhas proposed the vote of thanks. Lancy Mascarenhas and his wife Jacintha Mascarenhas were present on the occasion.
