Udupi, Mar 8: A daughter who serves, a sister who loves, a mother who cares, bestower of love, life, friendship and trust, a picture of poise, strength and grace, a dreamer, achiever, a winner all along. Phenomenal women were celebrated on International Women's Day on Monday, March 8.
St Cecily’s English Higher Primary School organised a short programme for the girl students and their mothers. The programme began with a prayer dance invoking God’s blessings. Sr Jacintha D’Sa, the headmistress of the school welcomed the gathering with her beautiful smile and loving words. Sr Philomena offered a bouquet of flowers to Charlton Cardoso, the speaker of the day as a gesture of warm welcome. Our boys and girls conveyed the wishes of the day through a melodious song, rhythmic dance and a value-based skit. Thanushree, the Guinness record holder performed a yoga dance.
Thanushree Pithrodi student of St Cecily’s Kannada Higher Primary School, Udupi was honoured on her achievement for the Guinness World Record for most backward body skips in one minute. Charlton Cardoso the chief guest, Sr Maria Vibha, joint secretary, Sr Violet Tauro, administrator of the School, Asha Vaz, the PTA vice-president, Sr Jacintha D’Sa, headmistress, Jennifer, the teacher representative felicitated her.
Charlton Cardoso, the resource person of the day addressed the gathering with his health tips, empowering women to better health. Dreama Gracy Vaz proposed the vote of thanks. Cecilia Castelino compered the programme.
