Bengaluru, Mar 17: Unperturbed by the recent spike in COVID-19 positive cases in some parts of Karnataka, including the state capital of Bengaluru, chief minister B S Yediyurappa has categorically turned down the demand in certain sections of the government for imposition of a lockdown or enforcing night curfew to control the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The situation is in people’s hands. It people cooperate fully and maintain the COVID-19 protocol and guidelines, especially compulsory wearing of masks and maintaining social distancing, we can prevent the spread of the disease. Ultimately, it is for the people to protect themselves and their loved ones,’’ he said.

Speaking to reporters after the video conferencing by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with all chief ministers in the country on the recent spike in the COVID-19 cases despite the rollout of the massive vaccination drive for all health warriors and people above 60 or those above 45 having comorbidities, the chief minister ruled out imposition of lockdown or night curfew as a solution to the problem.

Yediyurappa made it clear that he has issued strict instructions to the officials and the Home Department to enforce the COVID rules very strictly. "It is in people’s hand to control the situation now. If people do not cooperate and abide by the norms, the State Government will be compelled to consider stringent measures," he said.

"I have full faith in the people and their good sense because ultimately the COVID norms are for the safety of everybody and their near and dear ones,’’ the chief minister said.

The chief minister mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his concern over the rise in the number of cases in Bengaluru urban, Bidar and Kalaburgi districts where the caseload is alarmingly high.

The Prime Minister has advised the states to take stringent measures in view of the sudden spurt in the number of cases in the last 15 days, Yediyurappa said.

The chief minister said he had apprised the Prime Minister of the steps and measures taken by the state government to follow the Centre’s guidelines to control the COVID situation and also to step the vaccination drive.

This vaccine is not a guarantee that one will be completely immunized from Corona; reinfection though on a milder scale is very much possible; hence people should not get complacent about precautinary measures even after getting the jab! Please do your own research!!!

Better Sense Prevailed! Yeah, let people do whatever they think in their interest as they are responsible for their health all these years as I had stated few weeks back too. Coming to imposition of any mandates which are unscientific like wearing masks or distance from each other which had failed in the past & will fail in future too for not lack of peoples efforts but due to the nature of the virus which was there even before humans came into existence, will be there even if human race stops to exist as they just need hosts to multiply & colonize like all viruses which take lives in the beginning but later lose their virulence & instead co-exist with their hosts like all the 120000 viruses do, But introduction of toxins in the form of environmental pollution & interference by getting vaccines to eliminate one strain of virus leads to more docile viruses to take their place & become more virulent causing mayhem. According to well known scientist who had won many accolades & was in the Gates sponsored research team on virology has written letter to WHO to stop mass vaccinations at this juncture as more strains after mutations will cause vaccinated people to become Super Spreaders of more virulent & deadly strains of viruses which even might end human existence on this earth. He had called for a hold in all countries to stop vaccinating at present & wait for the mutations & virulent forms to end their infectious spree to restart vaccinating with traditional form of vaccines rather than mRNA of the US type as they are not proven their capability to either prevent or save lives even among those who had taken it & endangering the recipients & those unvaccinated. According to present results even our vaccines don't give protection to those people who have comorbid diseases as their immune system isn't working properly for the same reason they get serious complications even if infected with any other infections. Beware of the pitfalls & Cautious approach is Wise.

All seems to be Bill Gates' money making and depopulation business through communist virus and vaccines. What will happen if one uses different experimental vaccines on population? different strains from virus as well as vaccines... Seems to be well planned by communists and western elites for depopulation, control and rule without any wars, same time make billions through vaccinations.

The need of the hour is strict enforcement of COVID rules and not another lockdown. Please impose heavy penalties on those who do not wear masks and practice social distancing.

Very good news chief minister ji...This time, be strict with those who do not follow covid guidelines......It should be equal to all irrespective of caste, creed, status, rich or poor. . I really appreciate and support your decisions in containing the virus. Those who just show off the mask wearing on chin or neck, please charge the double the fine. People should know to safeguard themselves and their loved ones. Its in their hands.
