Mangaluru, Mar 30: Muzrai minister and district in-charge Kota Srinivas Poojary has issued a press release concerning the celebration of religious events amid coronavirus.

"People have expressed anxiety to the official orders released by the deputy commissioner for the effective containment of the virus. I have directed him to provide clarification. Yakshagana, bhoota kola, nema, poojas, felicitations and traditional religious programmes that are already scheduled can be conducted while strictly adhering to Covid regulations,” he clarified.

“More than 500 people are not permitted to gather on open grounds. People should comply with coronavirus guidelines by wearing masks and maintaining social distance,” stated the minister in the press release.

    This is what happens when Tuglaq darbar prevails. "...strictly adhering to Covid regulations" is a joke and an eye wash. We have heard similar statements in the past, but there is no news on action taken on violators despite knowing too well that the so-called regulations were openly flouted, that too in front of the authorities. As long as spineless people are sitting on administrative positions (MPs, MLAs, DCs all included) this kind of shifting the goal posts will continue. Our administrators lack the political will and intellectual capacity to analyse issues from all possible angles and take firm decisions, and we call ourselves Vishwaguru!

    IT is totally confusing . Each and every authorized personal from Govt of Karnataka issue different statement for covid19. DG says ban, Kota says religious function can conduct with covid19 protocol. Health minister suddenly rise up some where from corner and also HM. Why can't theses guys, sit together, discuss then call press meet. Now a days, Udupi DC is well often seen in the press meet wasting taxpayer's money
