Mangaluru, Apr 1: Dakshina Kannada superintendent of police, BM Laxmi Prasad has been transferred as the SP of Shivamogga district on Thursday.
Sonawane Rishikesh Bhagawan who was serving as superintendent of police of Yadgir district will be the new SP of Dakshina Kannada district.
Sonawane is backed by the experience of having worked in the district as assistant superintendent of police at Bantwal. He also has functioned as Lokayukta SP.

The transfer was made by the government in a communication dated April 1. Prasad has been transferred with immediate effect and will be posted as the SP of Shivamogga until further orders.
