Mangalore: Police Nabs Lambani Woman Accused of Abducting 7-year-Old Girl

Mangalore, Jul 25: The city police nabbed a Lambani woman accused of abducting a seven-year-old girl here on Sunday July 25.
The police found the accused Lambani woman along with abducted seven-year old Goulibai at nearby Nantoor bus stand, here when the news of them was conveyed by a newspaper shopkeeper, who suspected her behaviour with the accompanying girl.
Kankanady rural police arrested the Lambani woman and have also taken the abducted girl Goulibai into their custody.
Background of the Case
Forty-five year old Lambani woman Humali, a resident of Veera Nagar, Padil here lodged a complaint with Kankanady rural police station on Thursday July 22 that her daughter seven-year old Goulibai was abducted by a woman of her own community, whom she met at Central Market, here on Sunday July 18. Humali and her daughter Gaulibai had gone to Central Market, here to buy some vegetables, when the accused woman approached them with the request to find some work for her.
Meanwhile, Humali asked the accused to come to her house and stay with them for a few days and meanwhile she would search for work. Humali, as usual the following day on Monday July 19 left to her work along with her son. However, when she returned home at 2.00 pm on Monday, she found no trace of her daughter and the accused woman. Humali enquired about them with her neighbours and lodged complaint with Kankanady rural police.
