Mangaluru, Apr 3: A Kerala native P Qasim has built a temple dedicated to Koragajja at Kavatharu, Mulki. Over 35 years ago Qasim who is originally from the Palakkad district in Kerala had migrated to Kavatharu.
There was a time in Qasim's life when he and his family were going through a difficult phase. During the same time, he also suffered a leg injury. Looking for a solution to the turmoil in his life, he approached a priest who advised him to build a Koragajja temple.
Soon, a temple for the Koragajja was duly built by Qasim next to his house where he also performs daily rituals.
The temple witnesses a daily footfall of 50 devotees from different religions. As is the ritual, Qasim also distributes prasadam to the devotees. He says that he has been performing the rituals and poojas at the temple for over 19 years now and maintains that he became a vegetarian the day he began performing rituals at the temple.
