Udupi: 2.5-year-old girl child dies after accidentally falling into open well

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi

Udupi, Apr 3: In a tragic accident, a two and a half-year-old child was killed after it accidentally slipped and fell into an open well on the evening of Saturday, April 3. The incident took place in Mudarangadi village in Kaup, Udupi.

The child has been identified as Priyanka, daughter of couple Jayalakshmi and Krishna from Admar.

On Saturday, the family stepped out of the house to do some shopping in the city. It is suspected that the child fell into the well while playing. The well was situated near the store where the parents were shopping.

Upon realising that her daughter is missing, the mother uploaded a photo of the child on social media so that people with any information can reach out to her. Thus began the search for the kid. Moments later, the Shirva police and locals found a bag and some flowers near the well. The child was found at the bottom of the well and unfortunately did not survive the fall.

Shirva police have registered a case in this connection.

This is a most unfortunate tragedy. May the soul of 2.5-year-old baby girl Priyanka RIP and deepest sympathies to her parents Jayalakshmi and Krishna. That girl could have been alive had the parents kept her with them instead leaving her alone. But that was destiny.

Miss use of social media. They could have saved girls life if they started searching immediately nearby, instead of uploading photo in social media and waiting for replies. RIP...

Dear Jossey Saldanha, Mumbai, before commenting, verify the reality. I have full sympathy to the child's parents. Please note that, the well is located behind the complex with boundary wall and that too inside the property boundary wall. The only way to go inside the property boundary wall is to cross one shop and then get down to the road, cross Mescom office walk approx 100meter,enter the gate then again walk 50meter towards the well. This is the scenario of the site. Please refrain from making statements without authenticity.

M.Sequeira Udipi, here first one has to blame the parents, for not taking care of their child, simply letting it play without taking care. When not found first load her foto for daily .when they are not able to control the child then leave it at home .Ladies and shopping ?Child is always in the mood of going around look for something ,play.we cant blame the child. So many risks are there on road, some even take the child and go these days.second comes the open well.who is the owner of the well ?Why did not put any fence to it?Anyone can or animals can fall into.In India there are so many ponds ,well which are very dangerous specially in monsoon.Very sad a innocent child was offer from someones negligence.first from parents and well owner.Heart felt sympathies to the parents still. Now atleast hope someone who is responsible and owner of it see that very soon it will be closed or put fence around it.May the little angel s soul rest in peace.Very sad .
