Court Issues Non-bailable Warrant Against Reddy for Eighth Time
Bellary, Jul 26, (PTI): A court today issued a non-bailable warrant for the eight time against mining magnate and Karnataka Tourism Minister G Janardhana Reddy for allegedly destructing boundary marks on Karnataka-Andhra Pradesh borders for illegal mining.
JMFC magistrate K K Amarnath issued the NBW and ordered Reddy to be produced before the court on or before August 26.
Tappal Narayana Reddy, a rival mine owner in 2006, had filed a complaint against Reddy and some others accusing them of destroying the boundary marks at Vitlapura, Tumti on the Karnataka border and at Malapuragudi bordering Andhra Pradesh.
Narayana Reddy had also charged them with threatening his life. fter the police registered a case in this connection, Reddy secured anticipatory bail but did not appear before the court when it issued an NBW on December 30, 2009.
Since then, the Sandur JMFC has issued NBWs on February 4, April 3, April 24, May 24, June 26 and July 9.
Reddy failed to appear before the court today following which the case was adjourned to August 26.
