Beltangady: Over 15 injured after bus carrying marriage party overturns

Beltangady, Apr 4: Over 15 passengers sustained injuries after a bus overturned on the night of Saturday April 3 near Shantinagara, Boodujali, Nidle village here.

The bus was carrying members of a marriage party from Mysuru to Dharmasthala.

The bus overturned after its driver lost control of the vehicle.

It is gathered that the condition of an injured adult and three children is serious.

The bus reportedly was carrying about 30 people.

The locals rushed to help the victims immediately after the accident. They helped in bringing out those stuck inside the bus, and admitting the injured persons in different hospitals in Ujire and Beltangady.

    Hope the seriously injured people will survive without decaying their health.Since it was night and driver may be sleepy and was driving with high speed to reach home fast.Afterall 25people were not much .Second thought is whether driver couldnt see the path at night properly with headlights from opposite?suffering from night blindness?control it.Drunken?Wish all of them fast recovery.

    Suspect it is a combination of over-weight after a heavy marriage meal and partying inside the bus in drunken state, distracting the bus driver.

    May be due to wide roads constructed after 2014. Govt need to make it narrow like nallasopara roads.
