Mangalore Crash : 'Board of Enquiry Report Within Three Months'

Daijiworld Media Network, Mangalore - FR

Mangalore, Jul 27: Speaking to press persons soon after the multi-religious prayer meeting, Aravind Jadhav  Chairman & Managing Director of Air India reiterated  that Air India is steadfast in its commitment to help the families of victims of Mangalore air crash.  To a question that the enquiry is deliberately getting delayed Jadhav said the report of the Board of Enquiry will be out within the next three months and there is no question of delaying it.  He said that Air India management  is duty bound to help the family members to come to terms with the  life after losing their family members.

When asked about allegations by some family members of victims having difficulty in obtaining necessary documents to claim compensation Jadhav said  that there are legal problems involved and it is not simple and easy to neglect  the importance of documents in claiming compensation.  He said  “We want to be safe than sorry” as there might be repeated claims for compensation even after paying,  following  recovery of documents at a later stage which will complicate the matter further.  That is why we have told the family members time and again to keep the documentations ready  to ensure that compensation goes to the right person in the victim’s family.

He did not deny that the compensation issue is getting delayed due to  bureaucratic red tape but assured that  despite difficulties galore, Air India will not leave them in lurch.  As regards to providing jobs in Air India for the families of victims Jadhav said there are several issues involved including whom to give the job to.  At the same time we cannot give jobs to all the family members.  Jadhav also assured that his ministry is in touch with Civil Aviation authorities of Dubai, other Gulf States, and  immigration offices.

Who is Aravind Jadhav to comment on the date of release of inquiry report?!!
Air India is the prime accused in this case and how can they tell media when the court will come out with the report? So funny. Only in India will media people ask such silly questions and the official dare to answer them.

This partiality is because the agreement is as such. If I am not wrong, When you pay for your airticket they are taking a big amount as tax, which they are payin for the life coverage for these type of incidents. and the payment which is recived through Govt is maybe 2-5 Lacks but. based on international aviation agreement air crash victims will get around 85 Lacs, this is covered through insurance. We cannot compare a road accident or a rail accident with this. If Indian Govt will cover train accidents also like this, than train fare will be like Air Fare

Very good work done by the Authorities, those who died in the crash a unforgettable incident. Regarding the compensation, every body will get their share today or tomorrow. Same time people who died in recent Train Crash may be they will get hardly 1 - 2 lachs, that also after struggling. Why this partiality i really do not understand. Where is 85 lacks and where is 1 lack ? Jai ho.....
