Bangalore: Re 1 Dosa, Idli: His Way of Giving back to the Society

Daijiworld Media Network – Bangalore (VA)

Bangalore, Jul 28: Hotelier Puttaraju who though outwardly is known for his flamboyant nature has proved that he has not forgotten his poor background. His concern towards the needy is well -reflected in his novel way of helping them.

With the sole intention of satiating the hunger of poor people Putturaju has decided to launch 50 gm idli and 80 gm dosas for Re 1. The man who was brought up in poverty-stricken family and later earned success in hotel business says this is his way of giving back to the society and to the city which helped him fight poverty.

The scheme mainly introduced to celebrate the success of his year-old restaurant will be open for six months. From Tuesday July 27, Puttaraju’s 400-seater restaurant- Biryani Bazar in Cubbon Pet here will be supplying 50,000 dosas and idlis at Re one from 7 am to 11 am.

Putturaju’s family had nothing when his father passed way. He had eight siblings. His very first job was that of a butcher in a stall. After working as a milkman, dealing with soaps and getting into the catering business he finally landed in the hotel business and struck gold.

People watching his nine gold teeth, thick gold bracelet, heavy chains and four gold rings may find it hard to imagine that he once worked as a butcher. There is nothing wrong in displaying what is hard earned, believes Putturaju.

This is the one of its kind of humanatarian service in its own way.

Reddy Bros. have gifted a huge amount of Gold/Diamond Crown to Tirupathi temple which is a good gesture. If Reddy Bros wish there will not be a single person in Karnataka below poverty line. This is the real need of hour.

They should take example from this Great heart person Puttaraju.

Good on you Puttaraju! Congratulations on this nice venture and go all the way! From the look, you present a God believing and fearing person, even though there is a slight tint of flamboyance, which is personal, of course, but nothing is wrong in a little bit of flashiness, especially, when you are rich, and you have earned it with your hard and dedicated work. By the way, you are a good role model to so many rich people out there! Hope you will be able to keep this nice venture a bit longer, at least, till I come and say Gooday to you Puttaraju, when I am in Bangalore next year!

Mr Puttaraju ,All the best and keep up the good work!!!!
And for our commenters , " Do not try to preach as what the rich should do " .If you examine yourself , you are richer than many of the slum dwellers..... What have you contributed ???
If you cannot part by giving 10 rupees food to 1 beggar , instead give 50 paise or 1 rupee to a beggar , what does that make you ?? Even though you have more money than the beggar , you think like a beggar....

If each and every one of us Indians try to feed 1 person daily , im sure that there wont be any single person who would go hungry ....

    Practise before you preach...

Jai Hindh... Mera Bharath Mahaan !!!!!

Being flamboyant does't mean that such people are totally cold-hearted. It is their lifestyle, since majority of them came from a poor surroundings in the early part of their life.

It is very commendable that Mr. Puttaraju remembered his roots and can relate even today, his painful days of suffering.

Many people, when they get rich, simply foreget the past. Only people with greatness do remember
the past and try to help others in the same boat in which they had to travel. Hearty congratulations,
and God's blessings to start many such charity stalls all across Karnataka.

There is difference in how you got your wealth. If it is sheer hard work, God's blessing and certain amount of luck, then very rarely such wealth changes a man as in the case of Puttaraju. God has blessed him and he wants to return a portion of what he earned back to the poor as gratefulness. Flamboyant life style aside, God will bless him abundantly.

Reddy brothers wealth on the other hand, is not due to hard work but looting the country and the poor. Since they don't have any ethics on how they amass wealth, don't expect such scum to come forward and help the downtrodden.

Our filthy rich should take an example from richest people from West - Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Ted Turner and dozen more who have setaside almost all their wealth for the betterment of poor and needy all over the world while our billionaires are building palances, acquiring aircrafts and living a lavish life.

Mr.Puttu raj, I suppose you donot preach but your action itself is role model. It is easier to comment saying rich people should learn from Puttu raj.
Every person living has many rich above them and many, many poor below them. To the poor are we sharing little bit we have. A certain percentage of our income. If not do we have a right to comment or preach about others.
