Bengaluru, Apr 8: A woman, who had a grouse against her three-year-old daughter because of her habit of telling all about the woman's conversations with others to her husband, smothered the child to death by tightening a veil around her neck. This shocking incident happened within the limits of Annapoorneshwari Nagar police station limits.
Sudha (28), has been arrested for murdering Vinutha, daughter of Veeranna from Mallattahalli here.
Veeranna is already married with two children. Because of family disputes he was living away from his wife. He had married Sudha, who was working at the tollgate, four years back after falling in love with her. The couple lived at Mallattahalli. The couple had a three-and-half year old daughter. Veeranna worked as a coolie while Sudha had begun to work for a tiles dealership. She used to take her daughter along when going for work.
The girl closely observed what her mother did and with whom she talked, and then explained everything in detail to her father. She also told her father about visitors at home. Because of this, the couple had fought a few times. On Tuesday afternoon the couple fought on the issue of watching TV programme and the daughter took the side of her father, it is said. Angered by this incident, Sudha took her daughter away by enticing her with the offer of buying Gobi Manchurian for her. The police say that on this occasion, Sudha killed her daughter.
Initially the woman had made her husband believe that the girl went missing when she was paying the bill of Gobi Manchurian. Thereafter, the couple had filed a missing complaint in the police station.
The body of the girl was found in an under construction building on Wednesday morning. The police grew suspicious about Sudha's behaviour. On making enquiry with the locals and the owner of the shop dealing in Gobi Manchurian they came to know that the girl had not been taken to the Gobi Manchurian shop. During the inspection at her home, they found a blood stained veil used to kill the girl. The police said that the woman has since confessed to her crime.
