Mangalore: Lions Club Installs J Krishnananda Rao as District Governor

Mangalore, Aug 1: The cabinet installation committee of Lions Club International District 324 D5 installed J Krishnananda Rao as district governor on Saturday July 31.
First lady of the district Mallika Rao inaugurated the function.
The national flag was brought to the dais by Chandrahas S N accompanied by NCC cadets.
District-in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar inaugurated the district projects and in his inaugural speech said that the programmes of the club shall be conducted in villages to help rural people in need. He also praised the good work done by the club during the time of floods in north Karnataka.
Commissioner of police Seemanth Kumar Singh was the guest of honour. He said that he is already associated with Lions Club as his star sign is Leo and his surname has the meaning ‘lion’ which makes him a lion by birth.
He also added that he is happy with the work of the club which is full of activities and requested that his staff be honoured, especially constables who stand on the road day and night to safeguard the city without caring for their own lives.
Two ambulances were inaugurated by Krishna J Palemar while pledging of corneas was done by Seemanth Singh and artificial limbs were handed over to the handicapped by Dr Shantaram Shetty on the occasion.
P Kishore Rao released Lions District directory ‘Sparsha’.
Vote of thanks was given by installation committee secretary K Prashanth Rao.
