Kundapur: Dredging work in Shedikere lake undertaken after long wait

Kundapur, May 7: Shedikere lake, Heggur Bettu, at Kumbhashi gram panchayat limits here was repaired under the Employment Guarantee Scheme.

The dredging in the lake that did not see repairs for several years was set in motion by gram panchayat member Anand Poojary, gram panchayat member and president of women’s Santwana Kendra, Radha Das, panchayat develop officer, Jayarama Shetty G and Heggoorbettu Narasimha Poojary. Journalist Yogish Kumbhashi was also present on the occasion.

Nearly 16 people were involved in the dredging work.

“Arjun Das gathered people who were in distress without jobs due to corona lockdown and provided them work under Employment Guarantee Scheme,” said Radha Das.
