Bantwal, May 21: “Covid management in villages is possible only when the gram panchayat task force indulges actively in it,” said Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik Ulippadiguthu.
Speaking in the Vitlapadnur gram panchayat task force committee meeting on Friday he requested that the committee should take the initiative in people awareness and vaccination. “Most of the positive cases are reported from people who arrived from other states. Keep a watch on them in the future also and subject them to quarantine,” he said.
Tahsildar Rashmi S R said that the first vaccination jab will be given only after registration. “More publicity in this connection is necessary,” she said.
Taluk panchayat executive Rajanna said that the responsibility of the task force committee at gram level is immense. “They should provide necessary help to Covid victims. Meetings should be held every week. Panchayat funds should be used to provide masks and sanitizers to panchayat level Asha workers,” he said.
“Out of 16 active cases, 12 are under treatment at their residences and four are in the hospital,” said the health assistant.
Vitlapadnur gram panchayat president Reshma Shankari, vice president Nagesh Kumar, Bantwal Buda president Devadas Shetty, tahsildar Rashmi S R, taluk panchayat chief executive Rajanna, PDO Sujay, revenue inspector Divaker Muguliya, village accountant Vaishali, MLA’s war room head Ravish Shetty Karkala, task force committee and officials were present.
