Puttur, May 22: Lock down implemented by the government to prevent the spread of coronavirus has affected human being and animals alike. The situation of street dogs is pathetic as they do not get any food to eat because all the shops and hotels have downed their shutters.
Luckily more than 150 street dogs of the town have a human being who takes care of them. They get food on time. The person who loves these street canines is none other than Rajesh Bannur, former president of Puttur town municipality. He was the member of town municipality for 20 long years.
Rajesh feeds all the street dogs in the evening every day. He distributes the food which he himself prepares at his home for the dogs. It would be 11 pm by the time Rajesh comes back home after feeding all the dogs.
Rajesh Bannur wishes to build a shed for these dogs if the government donates some land. So that they also get a place to sleep and he can feed all of them at one place.
Two hotels of the town and two Muslim friends are supporting the noble work of Rajesh by providing with food or other forms of donations. In addition, a veterinary doctor also helps him by treating the dogs that are sick.
