Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (EP)

Udupi, May 25: Minister for muzrai and backward classes welfare Kota Srinivas Poojary directed officials to shift the Covid patients in villages with a lack of medical facilities at home to Covid Care Centres. "Village-level task force committee should come forward to shift the Covid patients in the gram panchayat limits to Covid Care Centres," he said.

He conducted a review meeting of Covid management at Manipal Rajathadri Keshavan video conference hall, along with village-level task force committee members through video conference.

“Usually the houses in villages do not have separate rooms and toilets. When people test positive, confirm their symptoms and shift them to hospitals if necessary. If not, the people's representatives and officials at village-level should shift them to Covid Care Centres and provide them with necessary medical care,” he said.

“If the infected refuse to get admitted at the Covid Care Centres, strict action should be taken against the concerned and they should be shifted with the help of the police department. The village-level committee members should hold meetings daily, obtain information about the infected, monitor the management of Covid, seal down the houses of the infected and provide ration to such residences if necessary. ASHA workers should visit these houses every day and enquire about their health,” he said.

MP Shobha Karandlaje said that it is the responsibility of elected representatives to monitor the health of people undergoing treatment at home or at Covid Care Centres on a daily basis. She directed the officials to provide them with necessary treatment and ensure that there are no fatalities. “The poor should be educated about Ayushman Arogya Karnataka scheme,” she added.

“Retired doctors and those who have recently received their medical degree in villages should be identified and encouraged to provide service at local primary health centres. Vaccinations for everybody will be taken up on priority,” the MP assured.

MLA Raghupathi Bhat said that the members of the task force committee should obtain details about the patients with Covid symptoms from the private doctors treating them and ensure that such patients are thoroughly examined. Meanwhile, MLA Lalaji R Mendon stressed that people should observe Covid protocol.

District panchayat secretary Kiran Padnekar, gram panchayat president, vice president, panchayat PDO and others were present.

Our India now fully exposed....that rural India about 95% is full of Corona. So....next what..... Remember very well that these 95% (unorganized sector) rural India is supplying balance 5% Urban area their daily essentials like rice, vegetable, food, grocery, etc. Imagine that all these supplies will be affected one day due to Corona in rural India.....people will fight for survival for food, as there will not be any essential supplies in 5% of Urban India. Think big and imagine...The situation in Rural India is alarming.....people don't have money to eat daily food. Then how they can go to the hospital for Corona's check and treatment, as they don't have any money.

Any normal person know that, in villages there is no space for quarantine. I think may be 5 percent people from urban and rural areas have extra bed room and wash rooms.
