Bantwal, May 26: “Officials should take elected representatives into confidence and work diligently. Do not play with the lives of people by slacking,” said Banwal MLA Rajesh Naik.
He was speaking after presiding over a progress review meeting of ward task forces held at the Bantwal municipal council auditorium.
“Officials and elected representatives should work collectively,” he said.

He expressed his dissatisfaction against the municipal council chief executive for not having informed the members about the task force committee. “Set aside your differences and work for the benefit of the people,” he said.
“The respective ward members are the heads of the council task force. The council president should oversee their functions. Take legal action against those who violate Covid regulations," he said.
Tahsildar Rashmi S R said that the task force committee should be more proactive in its approach. Municipal council president Mohammed Sharif said all the council members will be informed about the functions of the task force within a week.
“107 positive cases are reported from ward one to five, 52 cases among them are active,” informed the medical officer of the health centre, Dr Ashwini.
Municipal council vice president, Jacinta, BUDA president, Devadas Shetty, municipal council member, Janardhan Chendthimar, Gangadhar Poojary, Meenakshi Gowda, Rekha Pai, Devaki, CDPO, Gayatri Kambali, municipal council chief executive, Lena Britto, ASI Jinnappa Gowda, MLA's war room officials, Devappa Poojary, Dombayya Arala and others were present.
