Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, May 28: A complaint has been filed in Konaje police station here against the organizers of a Mehendi function. They have been accused of violating covid19 rules.

Shobha from Pavoor had obtained conditional permission from the panchayat relating to the marriage of Koushalya, which was arranged on May 20. Pavoor panchayat development officer Sudharani, said in her complaint that Mehendi programme was held on the night of May 19 without permission, and that loudspeakers were used for the function.

She also alleged that social distance was not maintained and people danced around without wearing masks, and that Covid guidelines were also violated at the function.

Konaje police have registered case under the Karnataka Epidemic Diseases Act and Karnataka Police Act.

I suggest that when any parties ask for permission to do any type of functions, ( lockdown time) administration and Police must go and check that places atleast 2 to 3 days before regularl. Nowadays lockdown time our Police don't have much work because no much Traffic and other cases ,.If any violations happened means, Police must reply.

Lockdown time has provided us with an opportunity to keep the weddings simple and save the hard earned money. Some still would like to borrow and spend.

You are absolutely right call all your neighbors otherwise you will have problems, but my question is why harassment only to poor people why not rich people are booked, they do not invite their neighbors but no one lodges complaint against them.

I think, dancing is not an unavoidable part of Hindu marriage rituals. Mehendi could be done only with necessary members.

Anyhow, it is better to drop avoidable events in marriage. There are a number of people who attend marriages only for entertainment like dancing. If we avoid such things it will be better to limit the number of people. In Hindu marriage culture, Mehendi function is considered as a must, but nowadays this function is observed as grand as marriage function. That is not necessarily.

Mangalore was once beautiful peaceful city with highly disciplined citizens, after BJP took over the authority.. Mangalore is now micro UP. if anybody wants to see another UP / Jarkhand / Bihar they should see here. Only congress can restore what's lost.
