Udupi, May 28: The district deputy commissioner urged citizens to avoid mass gathering or crowds and directed officials to monitor the movement of people who are found on the road for unnecessary reasons.
DC G Jagadeesh in a press release dated May 28 banned representatives of microfinance companies, cooperative societies and NBFCs from visiting houses and forcing borrowers to repay loans that they availed during the pandemic.
The deputy commissioner has appointed nodal officers, whom people can reach out to convey their grievances in the event they are pestered by the said institutions.
The nodal officer for NBFC will be Rudresh DC, the lead district manager. He can be contacted on the number 9448860858. Pravin B Nayak, deputy registrar of cooperative societies can be contacted on 9448633338.
The nodal officers are directed to respond to the complaints from borrowers and provide solutions to the problems. The DC has directed the companies and the nodal officers to work collectively so that issues of the public can be solved.
