Bengaluru, Jun 3: The anticipatory bail applications filed by the accused relating to Ramesh Jarkiholi CD case came up for hearing before the court for the people's representatives here on Wednesday June 2. Advocates for the special investigation team vehemently opposed the bail applications and filed objections. The hearing of the case has been posted to June 8.
Ramesh Jarkiholi had filed a complaint in Sadashiva Nagar police station, alleging that the accused were blackmailing him by threatening to expose a sex CD concerning him. Relating to the case, accused journalist Naresh Gowda and Shravan, who are absconding, had filed bail applications.
The SIT argued that as per the statement of Ramesh Jarkiholi, the CD gang had fleeced him. They also advised the lady to speak to Jarkiholi in a provocative manner. They further asked her to contact the former minister over mobile, WhatsApp and video call. With the specific aim of blackmailing, sexual relationship also was developed. The accused through honeytrap collected money several times, the SIT stated.
It also said that investigation has been delayed as the accused are absconding. The lady and the accused spoke on mobile the day the CD was released. Later, they met in a private hotel in Bengaluru after which the lady and her friend were sent to Goa. The lady and the accused have been in contact since the beginning. Rs 9.20 lac in cash was found from the house of the lady. There are evidences to prove the meeting between the lady and the accused, and also about the exchange of blackmail money. Moreover, the accused had also planned to buy expensive cars, the SIT stated in its objections.
