Kundapur, Jun 3: Gram panchayat of Nada village has taken a bold decision in order to bring down the increasing cases of Covid positive in the village. It has decided to enforce a strict lockdown in the village. Already, the DC has passed an order in this respect and the gram panchayat has made all preparations to face the lockdown. Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary and CEO of Udupi zilla panchayat had recently visited the gram panchayat and had instructed to enforce the strict lockdown.
The strict complete lockdown will be in effect from June 3 for the next five days. All arrangements are in place under the leadership of Dinesh Shetty, president of Nada gram panchayat. In addition to Dinesh, panchayat development officer Harish Mogaveera, former taluk panchayat member Praveen Kumar Shetty, panchayat member Sridhar Devadiga, panchayat staff Uday Devadiga, accounts assistant Lokesha, Gangolli police station personnel Hassan have formed a formidable team for surveying the lockdown.
Villagers are cooperating with the administration for the lockdown. Already the milk distributor is given the responsibility of distributing the milk to each home. A team is formed to deliver the essential items to families Nada Hadavu Badakere and Senapura villages are also under complete lockdown. A special surveillance team has prohibited entry into these villages.
Byndoor MLA Sukumara Shetty visited Nada gram panchayat on Thursday June 3 and held a meeting. Panchayat president Dinesh Shetty, gram panchayat members, development officer Harish Mogaveera, medical officer of Nada primary health center Dr Chikmari, ASI of Gangolli police station Nanja Naika, panchayat staff Lokesha and Udaya Padukone were present.
