Kundapur: '35,000 families have received food kits in district' - Minister Kota

Kundapur, Jun 7: "It is very essential to save the life of people from the pandemic. Hence, the government has taken strict measures to contain the spread of coronavirus. MPs and MLAs are working to contain the spread of the virus in their constituency at the village level. Corona warriors played a prominent role in containing the spread of the virus. Their morale should be boosted," said minister for muzrai and backward classes welfare, Kota Srinivas Poojary.

He was speaking during the distribution of grocery kits to the corona warriors in a programme organised by the Seva Bharathi Karnataka, Prerana Educational Trust, Shivamogga, Kundapur Educational Society (R) in Maranakatte Shri Brahmalingeshwara Sabha Bhavan here.

"Nearly, 35,000 families have received food kits. To break the chain of Covid-19, lockdown is essential. If the positivity rate comes down below 10 per cent, measures will be taken to lift the lockdown," he added.

Speaking during the occasion Shivamogga MP, BY Raghvendra said, "The corona warriors are working day and night during the pandemic. The national parties have come forward to support corona warriors by keeping the politics aside. We have organised a programme to distribute 4,000 grocery kits to corona warriors in the Byndoor constituency and 35,000 grocery kits in the Shivamogga Lok Sabha constituency. As a few political leaders gave misled the public, not many were keen to get vaccinated. Though the vaccines have been supplied to Primary Health Centers, people did not turn up to get inoculated. Hence, the government exported vaccines to other countries. Over 20 crore people have received the vaccines in India. This week the state will be supplied 1 crore vaccines."

MLA BM Sukumar Shetty also spoke on the occasion. During this event, former president of Byndoor taluk panchayat, Mahendra Poojary, former member of zilla panchayat, Babu Shetty, Shankar Poojary, Suresh Batavadi, Byndoor constituency BJP president, Deepak Kumar Shetty were present.
