Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Jun 10: Deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district, Rajendra K V, said that ten additional check posts have been set up within the city corporation limits and two to three more in other taluk headquarters on June 8 in order to strictly implement the lockdown rules. He informed that on Thursday, more check posts will come up to see that lockdown-life curfew is implemented without any relaxation.

Rajendra said that there is no question of relaxing any of the lockdown rules till June 14.He also felt that if the positivity rate does not show marked improvement till June 14, the extension of lockdown cannot be ruled out.

The deputy commissioner regretted the fact that even now unwanted movement continues between 6 am to 10 am which is only meant for procuring the essentials. He said that additional check posts are meant to regulate them.

In villages having over 50 Covid cases, till 6 pm on June 14, all programmes including previously arranged marriages have been cancelled except essential services. The deputy commissioner said that this is necessary to break the Covid chain and directed panchayat development officers to take steps. He also asked the tahsildars to initiate special surveillance measures in villages having more than 50 Covid cases. He also said that violators will face strict action.
