Mangalore, Aug 30: The officials of the city corporation here confiscated three trucks and two jeeps that had approached the dumping yard located at Pachchanady illegally to dispose off waste. The locals helped them to take the vehicles into possession.

The city corporation officials, who went to the dumping yard after receiving complaints from the locals, found that out of a truck carrying chemical waste and three loaded with poultry waste, only one had permission to dump the waste there. Two more jeeps, which arrived at the dumping yard on Sunday August 29 with poultry waste, were also found to be not having any permission to dump the waste. Hence, they were also confiscated

City commissioner, Vijayaprakash, said that he has found out that the vehicles were dumping waste at the dumping yard of the city by bribing the security guards. He said action would be taken against the guards for this lapse.
