Udupi: New Office-bearers, Top Members of SKPA Take Charge

Udupi, Sep 1: Local MLA, Raghupati Bhat, advised the photographers to work and act unitedly, as united fight alone has the potential to solve the problems they encounter.
Bhat was speaking after inaugurating the installation ceremony of the new office bearers of Udupi zonal unit of South Kanara Photographers' Association and the members of its executive committee. A function in this connection was held at the Lions Bhavan at Brahmagiri here on Tuesday August 31. “When problems are born, organizations take birth to solve them. For making the actions of the organizations result-oriented and worthy of bringing results, there is a need for the members to come together and move together,” he advised.
The MLA noted that the menace of parallel functioning of official and unofficial groups is not limited to the field of photography alone. He advised the concerned to counter this problem effectively. While noting that there is no power to the concerned to grant sites to the association within the city, he said he will consider the same, if sites are available in the rural belt.
On the occasion, achievers, Dr Krishnaprasad K of Prasad Netralaya, Koopu Soori Shetty and Nagaraj Majoor, were felicitated.
SKPA central committee president, Shivaram Kadaba, presided. Block Congress committee president, Pramod Madhwaraj, K Leeladhar Shetty Kaup, SKPA central committee vice president, K Vasudeva Rao, writer, Bannanje Babu Amin, honorary president, Raghava Padmashali, newly elected president, K Sridhar Shettigar, treasurer, Sripati S K, immediate past secretary, Sukumar Kukkikatte and others were present at the dais.
Immediate past president of the unit, Harish Shetty Kemmannu, welcomed. New secretary, Dhananjay Poojary, proposed the vote of thanks. Janardan Kodavoor and Raghavendra Sherigar presented the programme.
