Belagavi: Ramesh Jarkiholi puts off resignation threat for now

Daijiworld Media Network - Belagavi (SP)

Belagavi, Jun 23: Former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, who has been trying his best to get back into the state ministry, has temporarily put on hold his threat to resign his seat if his demand to make him a minister again is not met immediately.

It is said that he will take a final decision on this matter after meeting Suttur Swamijii on June 25. Ramesh is currently in Mumbai for the last four days. He had met former Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, and tried to pressurize the central leaders to accommodate him in the state ministry without further delay. As the national leaders did not give any positive signals, and as Fadnavis prevailed on him against taking any hasty decisions, he has temporarily postponed the resignation issue, sources said.

Ramesh will be back in Gokak on Wednesday. He will hold discussions with his close ones there. A few days back, he had decided to resign as MLA, having been frustrated by the lackadaisical attitude of the party and some friends-turned-foes within the party. He also had planned to field his son Amarnath, from Gokak constituency. But on the basis of the high command's reaction and result of talks with Fadnavis, he has now decided to postpone the decision to resign, sources stated.
