Mangalore: Corporation Bank Gets New Managing Director

Mangalore, Sep 2: On Wednesday September 1, the union government finalized a list of eight managing directors and 12 executive directors for the public sector banks. A final decision in this respect was taken, after lot of delays and discussions.


Ramnath Pradeep, presently functioning as the executive director (ED) of Central Bank of India, has been made the chairman and managing director (CMD) of Corporation Bank, which has its headquarters in the city. Ramnath, a law graduate, holds a post-graduate degree in economics. After completing his law degree, he had worked as an advocate for some time, before joining Madhyapradesh Finance Corporation as law officer.  He worked in ONGC before joining Dena Bank. He had taken charge as the executive director of Central Bank of India in December, 2008.

Among the other public sector banks based in the state, S Raman, ED of Union Bank of India, will take over as CMD of Canara Bank. H S U Kamath, ED of Canara Bank, will become CMD of Vijaya Bank, while Archana Bhargava, geneal manager of Punjab National Bank, is set to take charge as the executive director of Canara Bank.
