Mangaluru, Jun 26: The district administration had clarified that weekend curfew would be in force from 7 pm on Friday to 7 am on Monday. Even shops dealing in essentials have been ordered to be closed. The people in general have been adhering to these conditions. KSRTC buses are also off the roads.

Still, a few two and three-wheelers and cars are found moving about in the city. The police have set up check posts at various places and checking is in progress on Saturday June 26. They have been making discreet enquiries about the genuineness and importance of the motive of the travellers. They are also seen checking documents to verify the genuineness.

It may be recalled, deputy commissioner of police (Law and Order) Hariram Shankar on Friday June 25 had directed the police personnel to strictly implement the weekend curfew and also said that only medical stores, milk shops and government offices will be open.

I think it is better that our traffic Police must publish names and photographs along with vehicles of offenders in the newspaper regularly. Everyone wants to know the offenders. Repeated offenders vehicles must seize. Because I think this Corona virus problem will be there for atleast upto 2024.

Only at the entry points some patrolling, otherwise all are freely moving. Only reason people are not going outside since all shops are closed and because it's raining.

More than half the people on road are not wearing mask. No Mask!!! Even the folks at Nandini Parlour close to my home do not wear mask. Administration instead of merely blocking roads at specific points in the city and verifying travelers for the travel reason should resort to frequent patrolling in and around the city roads and strictly deal with offenders.

These 2 day stopping the clock isn't based on any scientific or common logic. Unless corona attended the meeting and conveyed to the experts that it should be allowed to roam 2 full days on the roads too. Wind up these useless measures and give police the rest and let them focus on their work first.

As they have prematurely opened public places & transportation; public getting complacent, third wave of Delta variant is imminent! In Maharashtra all places where crowds gather are strictly closed to curb spread of infection! Seeing the large, care free, crowds in the markets & public transportation in Bangalore after relaxing lockdown there are chances of another flareup!

This two day curfew according to me is useless. We need to learn to adapt our lifestyle to Covid, and take precautions. Not sit at home without any purpose Can anyone tell what's the benefit of this 2 day lockdown? May be just to buy time to complete the pending smart city work!

In the last 4-5 photos, count the number of fellows who are flocking around without masks. Where is the police ? Sleeping? Or busy making "Murgaas & Bakraas" out of motorists? This is is the sad scenario all over the district!!! The point is where the great DC , his administration & police are supposed to act & enforce rules strictly, they don't act.
