Mangaluru, Jun 27: Weddings will be allowed in halls with strict Covid safety guidelines from Monday June 28.

Confirming the same, deputy commissioner Dr K V Rajendra told daijiworld that the number of guests at weddings will strictly be limited to 40.

Those who wish to hold wedding ceremonies in halls need to obtain prior permission from MCC commissioner, the panchayat development officer (PDO) and other officials concerned of the local taluk or gram panchayat bodies.

The officials concerned will provide a pass with names of 40 guests. Only one wedding will be allowed per venue at a time. Only those holding the pass will be allowed to attend the wedding, the DC stated, adding that the pass cannot be transferred to any other individual.

The DC also warned that owners of marriage halls, as well as organizers of weddings will face stringent action in case of violation of Covid protocols.

This is good move on the part of Dr. K.V. Rajendra the preset D.C. to relax the rules and yet control the situations regarding assemblies. Hope all concerned will pay due attention to the rules prescribed and ensure safety measures as suggested

Out of 40 guest invited there should be one police officer & one nurse to check all times that no covid safety guidelines were broken & if broken immediate action should be taken with heavy fine & total duration of the function should not more than 45 minutes & food should be served as take home parcels.

Sir, IMHO it's advisable not to open places of mass gatherings till the infection rate falls drastically as the new very virulent Delta + variant is in the air, because we people are famous to flout all rules in an ecstatic state like in a marriage celebration or religious ritual! It is better not to lose grip on the situation till we are out of the woods! JaiHind!!

Its been more then 1 Years we have been highly educated about corona Virus , mask and social distance and their pros and cons. Now our life, our parents life, our loved ones live is now under over hands and we are sole responsible for life and death of our loved ones, Its no more government, doctors or any organizations responsibility to keep tracking our moments.

Exactly what we shouldn’t be doing- allowing people to gather!!!! Many have lost their lives in the second wave - we dont seem to have learned any lessons.
