Beltangady: Man arrested for raping, impregnating lady by false promise of marriage

Beltangady, Jul 1: A person from Laila in Savanalu village here, identified as Kiran (24) stands arrested on the basis of a complaint. Kiran reportedly developed a physical relationship with a girl at Nada Kanappady in Kadirudyavara village by winning over the trust of the girl by promising to marry her.

The lady is seven months pregnant now. It is said that the youth has refused to keep his word.

The girl said that she was raped by the accused by winning over her trust by promising to marry her. On the basis of complaint lodged in Beltangady police station, a case has been registered.

Kiran, it is said, used to visit the lady's home often. In the past, another case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act had been registered against him at Dharmasthala police station.

    There are many cases which might have not come out. some girls keep it secret for the fear of society. most of the boys plays in the life of girls by showing the drama of love. so this girl at least she came out and filed compliant instead of blaming herself. I appreciate the courage of the girl . this men should be punished strictly for playing in her life. hence forth these kind of crime should not be repeated and respect should be given to every women rather than treating her as a material kind treat her as human as you want to be treated by others.

    Shanker Mangalore,Need not shoot.It requires always two for a klap.Whatever the promise boy makes ,girl too should take care not to believe everything what boy says even Heaven to bring down.If he is really a good boy sincere ,would make efforts to go to parents and ask them to marry the girl.When he repeatedly does it is not a rape.why she agreed each time?He should be punished and arrest him.So that not another girl will be safe.So many such things are happen nowadays.Moral is gone to dogs.I am not a moral apostel,but one has certain values have to keep up to lead a normal ,family life.where were her parents all the time?He should be made to pay for the child till the child 18years is.

    Dears RSRB, no one can convert one by force. Conversion comes from heart only. Faith is followed by heart and not by show. Its only a blame game that there is force conversion going on. None can enter any ones heart and see what is there. None can be follower of any religion unless and untill he or she accept it from heart. By acting one cannot be a follower of any religion. This will be cheating only. I could not understand why some people are jealous and not allowing some one to chose his / her religion. Why are these hate mongers and trouble makers trying to interfer in someones personal matter. Follwoing a religion is everyones personal matter and any one disturbing this should be treated as terrorist and dealt accordingly. NOne has the right to take anyone freedom and force them to follow their rules. In some one does not like any fellow indian change his or her religion, they should leave the country.

    Until the child is 18 years old, the boy must pay the cost of upbringing and education. At the age of 24, he must have known the cost of getting his girlfriend pregnant. At least be smart and use protection before marriage. No sympathy for stupidity !!

    it is rape coz the girl is less than 18 even if she consents. hence the case is booked under protection of children against sexual offences. learn the law 1st. The girl need not state rape but law will consider it as rape if the relationship was started when she was 17. Su moto case can be booked regardless. parents of the girl can file a case.

    He may be arrested by the police, and the society will certainly judge him on morality. But, so far as I can see, he has not broken a law. If a woman has agreed to have physical relationship (under whatever inducement or excuse), she is a consenting adult. The actions by the male are not rape. This is as per the various judgements of the High Courts and the Supreme Court.
