Nativity Feast of Mother Mary Celebrated in Frankfurt (Germany)

Frankfurt, Sep 18: German and Dutch Konkani Association (GDKA) met on 11th September to celebrate Nativity of Mother Mary (Monti Fest).
The Days Celebration started with honoring Mother Mary with fresh flowers followed by Holy Mass, offered by Fr. Henry Patrao and a Festal Sermon given by Fr, Basil Vas the Parish Priest of Alangar Moodbidri. In his Sermon, Fr, Basil Vas stressed on the values of Family life and called the faithful not to give more importance to Materialistic Values rather give importance to Human Values, which will help us to stay in relationship with Mary who is the inspiration and Guide, to lead a wonderful Family life in our Modern society, which runs after the Materialistic World. The Holy Mass was concelebrated by Fr. Ivan Lobo, Fr. Dias, Fr. Robert Rego, Fr. Henry Patrao and Fr. Balthasar. Bethany Sisters prepared the Liturgy, which was very meaningful and worthy to honor Mother Mary on her Nativity.
After the Mass, every one marched towards the Church hall. The program started with President Anthony D' Silva delivering the welcome speech, followed by welcome dance by Sr. Stephina. Entertainment for the day was Children’s dance, games, tambola and Karaoke competition.
DJ Stephen Lobo entertained the audience with foot tapping music. Everyone enjoyed dancing to the tunes of Konkani Masala and Bollywood music, which lasted for more than two hours. Around 150 people participated in this celebration.
It was a day of joy and Happiness and the entire Participant were happy, having come together to celebrate this Feast and to honor Mother Mary on her Birthday.
