Udupi: Discussion Meet on Tulu Movie ‘Bhagya’ Held

Udupi, Sep 20: “Tulu movie ‘Bhagya’, has captured the true picture of the harsh realities faced by the fishermen community in coastal Karnataka. The technical team has also contributed with its superior
quality of shooting”, said K Satyendra Pai, chief, Vijaya Solar Systems, Katpady.

He was speaking after inaugurating a discussion meet on the movie based on the true story of fisherwomen, produced by a team that has won UNICEF recognition and Prasar Bharati national award, held at Vidyaniketan Group of Education Institutions, Kaup, near here, on Monday September 20.

Pai felicitated Raju B Tonse, the scriptwriter of the movie on the occasion.

Premanand Kalmady, a young movie reviewer, in his presidential address, said that the movie has been excellently shot and gives a glimpse of the community’s struggle for survival depicted by a cast of
talented youth.

Arnold D’Silva, managing director, Mother Care, said that the Tulu movie was good enough to qualify for screening at national and international film festivals.

Katpady Srilatha Group managing director Srikar Anchan, Kaup Rotary Club president U Anant Padiyar, Kaup Sri Krishna TV Centre proprietor Manohar Rao Paniyoor, Kaup Vidyaniketan Group of Education
Institutions administrator Prof V K Udyavar, Kambla Kala Vedike honorary president Dr U K Shetty, social worker Leeladar Shetty, movie artistes Prof Sujatha Shetty, as well as Raju B Tonse, music director Rohith Malpe, cameraman Sandeep, actors and technical staff were present on the occasion.

The movie was screened on the occasion. Movie director Prakash Suvarna welcomed the gathering. Gangadar K Kanchan proposed the vote of thanks while artiste Avinash compered the programme.
