Bangalore, Sep 25: Former western range inspector general of police (IGP), Gopal Hosur, who was functioning as additional police commissioner in the law and order department of the city, has been transferred as the IGP of state intelligence department, in place of Jyoti Prakash Mirji. Through an order issued on Friday September 24, the state government transferred Jyoti Prakash Mirji from intelligence department to the railways as ADGP.

Reportedly, the government is unhappy over the failure of Mirji to sense the pulse of the electorate in Gulbarga South assembly constituency during the recent by election.

K S N Chikkerur, who was working as railway ADGP, has been transferred to the forest wing of the criminal investigation department.
