Brahmavar: Minister says fixing prepaid electric meters under consideration

Brahmavar, Aug 17: Minister, Sunil Kumar, ,informed that the issue of extending the central government's scheme of fixing prepaid meters has already been discussed by Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Ltd (Bescom). He added that the issue will be discussed with the chief minister, and after considering its pros and cons, implementation of these metres in the coming days will be decided.

He was speaking to media persons at Kota in the taluk. "Orders were issued to fill some vacancies in the power sector, but because of certain reasons, appointments have not been made till now. "Steps will be taken to make appointments after discussing the matter at a meeting being held at Bengaluru on Wednesday. The candidates who have already received the orders need not panic," he assured.

On the issue of revival of Brahmavar Sugar Factory, he revealed the finances of the government are in a bad shape on account of the ill effects of coronavirus infection. "Under the current circumstances, revival appears very difficult. In the future however, the matter will be considered," he said.
